Mercedes-Benz of SF
DRIVEN BY DESIGN
Sleek. Spruce. Sophisticated. Traits that are shared by the new headquarters of Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco and the fine vehicles sold within. What was once a drab assortment of buildings housing a US post office, a public radio station, and a warehouse has been unified into a modern grand hall of automotive excellence. While most auto dealerships are uninspired cookie-cutter boxes dropped into various locations without regard to the climate, culture, or particular neighborhood they occupy, this building is all bold and brash San Francisco. Like a finely engineered German car, the fit and finish are perfect. The asymmetrical glass tower at the corner of Eighth and Bryant elevates the iconic Mercedes-Benz tri-star while the alluring glass atrium rises above the rooftop parking level to provide an interior marque proudly facing the adjacent highway.
